HomeBuilder Scheme

The HomeBuilder Scheme will provide eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) with a grant of $15,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home where the contract is signed between 1 January and 31 March 2021. Construction must commence within three months of the contract date.

The HomeBuilder Scheme will complement the Queensland Government’s First Home Owner Grant and the Regional Home Building Boost Grant if you are building or renovating within Queensland.

First Home Owner Grant

The Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant is a state government initiative to help first home owners purchase their first home. If you buy or build a new house, unit or townhouse and your contract is dated 1 July 2018 or later, you are eligible for a $15,000 grant to put towards your deposit.

The grant is paid per new home; not to each of the applicants for the same home and the value of the home including land is less than $750,000.

Regional Home Building Boost Grant

The Queensland Government’s Regional Home Building Boost Grant is a state government initiative to help home owners move into their new home sooner in regional Queensland areas. It will give you $5,000 towards the purchase or construction of a brand-new house, unit or townhouse valued at less than $750,000 if the new home is purchased between 4 June 2020 and 31 March 2021. The new home must be your principal place of residence and with the home being bought or built in a regional Queensland area of:

  • Cairns
  • Central
  • Darling Downs Maranoa
  • Mackay – Isaac – Whitsunday
  • Toowoomba
  • Townsville
  • Wide Bay

With Riverside Ridge situated at the foothills of Mt Stuart in Townsville, it is an eligible regional location to receive the Regional Home Building Boost Grant.

First Home Loan Deposit Scheme

The First Home Loan Deposit Scheme is a limited Australian Government-backed initiative to help make home ownership more accessible. This scheme can help home first home buyers apply for a home loan with a smaller deposit and without the additional cost of lender’s mortgage insurance. Under the Scheme, part of an eligible applicant’s home loan from a participating lender will be guaranteed by the National Finance, Housing and Investment Corporation, enabling first home buyers to purchase a home with a deposit of as little as 5 per cent. This scheme has limited availability.
